Hi Beautiful People

Live from Sacramento!

I am in the thick of the action at Wooden Paddle Tourney here in Sacramento! I made a solid run to the quarters in both singles and mixed doubles. In Singles, I had a great win against number 1 player in the world Hunter Johnson! Unfortunately I wasn’t good enough in quarters against Gabe Joseph who ended up losing in finals. In mixed, Etta and I Played for the first time together, she is awesome, but we fell short to JW & Jorja Johnson, in three games! They were very tough and for some reason JW was able to create top spin with a slick paddle so that was literally insane!

In Men’s Doubles, Riley Newman and I hit the court once again together! We had a great run and lost in semi final to James Ignatowich and Augie Ge. It wasn’t the best performance on our end but they played really well and were very solid, so credit to them! We then played the bronze medal match and ended up losing in a thriller against the giant Andrei Daescu and Collin Johns! It was an unfortunate match, we had a match point in the second game and a big lead in the third but Andrei is a tough competitor and found a way to save the day for him and Collin.

Overall, it was a great tourney, fun to play like the older days but I hope they won’t run it again as a normal tournament. An exhibition would not be a problem but a tourney seems a little bit too much in my personal opinion.

Next is Virginia Beach, and on this one I will be playing with Matt Wright & Callie Smith!

Tip of the day!

“If you are trying to improve a specific shot or something in your game, embrace the struggle. Most players aren’t patient enough, they bail or go back to old habits instead of fighting through. Believe in the process. Change isn’t easy but if you do things the right way and stay consistent it will pay off”
